STATEMENT OF OBJECTS OF POKOLBIN & DISTRICT

VIGNERONS ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED

 

1.   To promote viticulture in Pokolbin & District that being the Hunter Wine Country Private Irrigation District contiguous area.

  1. To promote wines made in Pokolbin & District and to promote Pokolbin & District as a winemaking and wine grape growing area.
  2. To actively protect the name of Pokolbin, Hunter Valley as a wine grape growing area.
  3. To actively protect the dominance of wine grape growing in existing wine grape growing areas of Pokolbin & District whilst maintaining the character of Pokolbin & District as a non-industrial, rural and tourism area.
  4. To promote and protect the interests of licensed vignerons in Pokolbin & District.
  5. To encourage and undertake synergistic relationships with wine tourism businesses in Pokolbin & District.
  6. To liaise with the Hunter Valley Vineyard Association Inc., Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism Association Inc. and Tourism Singleton Association Inc. to further the objects of the Pokolbin & District Vignerons Association Inc.
  7. To provide members of the association with full information on the activities of the committee of management.
  8. To permit social exchange of all kinds and at all levels with other persons and bodies in Australia and elsewhere engaged in viticulture and winemaking.
  9. To appoint, employ, remove or suspend such persons having the appropriate qualifications and expertise to assist in the carrying out of the objects of the Association as the Association may determine from time to time.
  10. To print and publish in any newspaper, periodical, book or leaflet any material that the Association may think desirable for the promotion of the objects.
  11. To manage the financial affairs, investments, equipment and real property of the Association in an appropriate way subject to the scrutiny of the members.
  12. To take any gift of property whether subject to any special trust or not for any one or more of the objects of the Association.
  13. To invest and deal with any of the monies of the Association not immediately required for the purposes thereof upon such securities and in such manner as may be deemed fit and from time to time to vary and realise such investments in an appropriate way subject to the scrutiny of the members.
  14. To indemnify any person or persons whether members of the Association or not who may incur or have incurred any personal liability for the benefit of the Association.
  15. To carry out all such activities as may be necessary or convenient for the purposes of the Association or any of them.
  16. To do all such acts, deeds, matters and things and to enter into and make such agreements as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
